Forest Carbon Partnership Facility Emissions Reductions Program (FCPF ERP):

  • Communities are expected to have a role in the forest monitoring system, including assisting in data collection, assessing information etc. This participatory forest monitoring has been integrated in annual data collection.[1]
  • The FCPF ERP reports that implementing entities and stakeholders have received capacity building at the central and provincial levels, focused on two main topics: 1) training on safeguards, with eight consultation, guidance and training workshops on the Safeguards Operation Manual (SOM) in June 2020, involving a total of 738 people (272 women, 466 men and 164 ethnic minorities); and 2) general training on REDD+ activities and policy for provinces, state forest companies and forest management boards in 2019, through 38 training courses with total of 10,921 participants (8,858 men, 2,044 women and 1,870 ethnic minorities representatives).[2]
  • The Forest Protection and Development Fund (VNFF) at national and provincial levels has also conducted awareness raising, dissemination and capacity building on the Payment for Forest Environmental Services (PFES) policy, with 358 training courses in 2019 and 97 in 2020, involving 13,028 and 7,416 participants respectively.[2]
