B2.2.4. Trends in land use certificates
● Number of Land Use Right Certificates (LURCs) issued: Recent data covers only agricultural production land, but shows that nationally in 2020, 96.9% of households using agricultural production land had a LURC.[1]
● Land Use Right Certificates issued to female-headed households: Between 2004 and 2014, LURCs issued only to men have decreased. Jointly titled cropland increased from 11.6% of samples to LURCs, to 38.3%, while LURCs considered “only female’’ decreased from 17.5% to 15.7%. In other lands, including forests, between 2004 and 2014, jointly titled increased from 13.9% to 41.4%, while female only LURCs decreased from 14.9% to 13.3%.[2] More recent data covers only agricultural production land and shows that, of the 96.9% of households with a LURC in 2020, 77.5% are issued to men, while 19.4% are issued to women.[1]
