G1.1.1. Definition of displacement

The term ‘’displacement’’ (also referred to as “leakage”) refers to cases where avoided deforestation and/or forest degradation in one forested area, is displaced to another, as an unintended consequence of  REDD+ implementation. Displacement can occur within Viet Nam and across national boundaries.
