F2.2.1. Incidences of reversals and how these have been addressed

  • National data on any incidences of reversals and how these have been addressed: n/a.
  • The Forest Carbon Partnership Facility Emissions Reduction Program (FCPF ERP) in the North Central Region reports that it is not applicable to report reversals in the first Reporting Period; it also reports that the key actions taken to minimize reversal potential are: (1) strengthening law enforcement on forest protection; (2) forest monitoring, including participatory monitoring; (3) integrating the forestry investment programs in the region, as well as agriculture production improvement, for improved livelihoods of local communities.
  • The FCPF ERP First Emissions Reductions Monitoring Report also states that the ERP has addressed and reduced drivers of deforestation and degradation compared to that in the period of 2016-2017, but that conversion of forests to infrastructure development (road, power lines, etc.) has increased, leading to an overall forest loss between 2018-2019.[1]
